April 12-14 Event Also Features Facility Tour of Newgistics 500,000 Square-Foot SuperCenter in Nearby Hebron, KY

AUSTIN, Texas – April 7, 2016 – Newgistics, a leading provider of end-to-end commerce solutions for top retailers and brands, today announced that it will lead two panel discussion at Operations Summit 2016, being held from April 12-14 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The sessions will provide retailers with insight on how to use returns to improve profitability, and how to improve the overall customer experience for subscription-based eCommerce. In addition, the company will be hosting attendees of the event at a facility tour of its 500,000 square-foot SuperCenter, in nearby Hebron, Kentucky.

The first session, titled “How an Exceptional Returns Experience Can Improve Your Profitability,” will take place on Wednesday, April 13 at 8:30 a.m. During the session Newgistics’ SVP of sales, Patrick Allard, and Multichannel Merchant’s chief content director and publisher, Ellen Shannon, will be joined by representatives from leading retailers including Title Nine and Ascena Retail Group. They’ll explore the importance of returns in the overall customer experience and how returns present opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and increase repeat business.

“Returns were once seen as a necessary evil to doing business online, but retailers have come around to see their value in providing a complete brand experience,” said Allard. “Retailers leading the pack have stopped viewing returns as a cost center and have instead learned to seize the opportunities they present to improve customer satisfaction and increase repeat business. Operations Summit is a great venue to share the knowledge that Newgistics has gained through pioneering eCommerce returns as far back as 2001 and helping retailers stay ahead of customer expectations ever since.”

The second Newgistics session, titled “Keeping Subscription Service Customers Happy and Loyal,” will take place on Thursday, April 13, at 11:25 a.m. Representatives from BirchBox and Dollar Shave Club will join Tom Behnke, VP of eCommerce fulfillment at Newgistics, to talk about the growing popularity of the subscription model. They’ll discuss strategies to keep customers engaged and maintain steady growth.

“Maintaining a high level of customer care throughout the whole eCommerce lifecycle – from device to doorstep – is important for all online retailers, but especially those employing a subscription-based model,” said Behnke. “There are a number of things a retailer can do to optimize a subscription program and ensure the best possible experience. For example, providing real-time visibility into shipments and returns provides important tools to help keep customers engaged, and creating opportunities to cross-pollinate with non-competing brands is a creative way to drive growth.”
