It’s that time of year again, when we gear up for another Internet Retailer Conference + Exhibition (IRCE).
Now in its 12th year, IRCE offers a jam-packed lineup of some of the brightest minds in eCommerce. Taking place in Chicago from June 7-10, this year’s show is sure to be bigger than ever with 10,000 expected conference-goers, 220 expert speakers and 130 conference sessions.
Here we offer a preview of some of the sessions and events we’re most excited about checking out:
Out with Omnichannel, In with Personalization and Customer Centricity (Tue, June 7, 8:45am)
To reach the next level of providing a superior customer experience brands need to focus on eCommerce personalization, delivering more accurate, relevant and personalized touchpoints both in store and online. In this session, John Mindari of CVS Health and Daniel Moure of PureFormulas.com plan to cover the different paths of the customer journey and explore the varieties of technologies needed to address loyalty, targeted discounts and personalization and how those technologies can be integrated into an existing eCommerce platform.
How Well Can Buyers Really Use Your Site? (Tue, June 7, 11am)
Despite all the talk about site responsiveness and usability, few retailers have actually observed real customers interacting with their site. In this session, speakers will present a usability study focusing on subjects attempting to buy items and gather information on websites. This is sure to be an engaging discussion of web site design in action.
How Well-Executed Operations Are the Key to Customer Satisfaction (Wed, June 8, 10:30am)
After customers receive an order, what they really remember from the experience is how quickly the product arrived, the condition it was in and how effectively the retailer responded to post-purchase inquiries. In this session, bag, cases and car carrier provider Thule Inc. will explain how it overhauled its operations from post-order support, to fulfillment and delivery and customer service. We’re always excited to see a retailer that’s been able to improve the customer experience.
Outsourcing Technology: A Growth Strategy for Everyone? (Wed, Jun 8, 4:15pm)
As a company that partners with retailers on a regular basis, we’re excited about this session on how outsourcing can benefit retailers of all sizes. The session will cover how a retailer can determine the capabilities of an outsource service provider and what will be required to make the relationship work. It will cover the questions to ask to figure out whether, and when, outsourcing could make sense for an eCommerce business, no matter what the size.
The Top 500: Riding the Wave of E-Commerce Opportunity (Thu, June 9, 9:15am)
In this session, Internet Retailer vice president of research Mark Brohan will present analysis from the just-released Top 500 Guide and will offer insights on business performance and other growth metrics driving the leading web merchants in North America. It’s always interesting to see how eCommerce companies are adapting to – and staying ahead of – the market.
