The 2015 holiday shopping season was a banner year in many ways – especially when it came to omnichannel returns. Newgistics Vice President of Sales and Business Development Patrick Allard recently had the opportunity to sit down with Multichannel Merchant Senior Editor Mike O’Brien to discuss the significant increase in omnichannel returns that we saw this year. A growing number of retailers are adopting more liberal returns policies to help drive sales. “Many more retailers are offering free returns, either earlier in the year or directly tied to holiday promotions,” Allard explained to O’Brien. “That tied to the more liberal returns policies aimed at making customers 100 percent comfortable with their purchase decision, really drove returns volume in the early part of 2016.” During the discussion, Allard also had the opportunity to give a preview of the panel discussion he will lead at Operations Summit 2016, taking place April 12-14 at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati. The session, “How an Exceptional Returns Experience Can Improve Your Profitability,” will explain how to take a customer-centric approach to returns.
